The great and the good of the U.K. TV industry have descended on London’s Royal Festival Hall for the British small screen’s biggest night of the year, the BAFTA TV Awards. Among the shows up for awards are Netflix’s smash hit “Baby Reindeer,” Apple TV+’s acclaimed spy series “Slow Horses,” HBO/BBC financial series “Industry,” Disney+’s raunchy comedy “Rivals” and its IRA drama “Say Nothing” and the ITV drama “Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office.” On the performance front, the likes of Gary Oldman, David Tennant, Richard Gadd, Marisa Abela, Nicola Coughlan and Danny Dyer are nominated.
Hosted by Alan Cumming, the ceremony began with “Baby Reindeer,” “Slow Horses” and “Rivals” already leading the pack with two awards each from the BAFTA TV Craft awards held two weeks earlier.
