Brett Goldstein to Play Male Escort in Amazon Comedy Series, ‘Shrinking’s’ Brian Gallivan Set as Co-Showrunner
Brett Goldstein is becoming a male escort…in a new TV series.
Variety has learned that Goldstein has set up the series “Escorted” at Amazon Prime Video with an eight-episode order. The logline for the show states, “A divorced dad (Goldstein) in Manhattan accidentally becomes a male escort in this romantic comedy about second chances, the mayhem of co-parenting, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.”

In addition to starring, Goldstein is the writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the series. Brian Gallivan, who currently works with Goldstein on the critically-acclaimed Apple TV show “Shrinking,” will also executive produce and serve as co-showrunner. Cooper Wehde and Josh Senior from “The Bear” will also executive produce along with Molly Mandel. Warner Bros. Television, where Goldstein is under an overall deal, is the lead studio, with Amazon MGM Studios also producing.

Goldstein is best known for his work on the hit Apple TV series “Ted Lasso,” on which he was a writer and co-executive producer in addition to starring as Roy Kent. He won back-to-back Emmy Awards for best supporting actor in a comedy for his work on the series and is coming back for Season 4. Goldstein is also a co-creator on “Shrinking,” sharing the show’s Emmy nomination for best comedy series earlier this year and appearing onscreen in Season 2. His other recent credits include the standup special “Second Best Night of Your Life” and films such as “All of You,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” and the upcoming romantic comedy “Office Romance.”
Gallivan is a writer and executive producer on “Shrinking” in addition to appearing onscreen as Stuart. He has also written for shows like “Splitting Up Together,” “Imaginary Mary,” and “Happy Endings.” He first gained recognition for his Second City web series “Sassy Gay Friend.”

Goldstein is repped by WME, Mosaic, B-Sides, LARK, and Hansen Jacobson. Gallivan is repped by Entertainment 360.
