Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward to Reunite at Star-Studded ‘All the President’s Men’ Staged Reading (EXCLUSIVE)
Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward will talk about their investigative reporting on Watergate, an ignominious chapter of American history that was immortalized in the 1976 film “All the President’s Men.”
The two legendary journalists are participating in a talkback, moderated by Alec Baldwin, following a one-night-only staged reading of “All the President’s Men” on Aug. 25 at Guild Hall in the Hamptons.

Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford star as Bernstein and Woodward in “All the President’s Men,” which follows the Washington Post reporters as they uncover the political scandal that led to President Richard Nixon’s resignation. Though Hoffman and Redford won’t be at the charity event, a number of star-studded names have been enlisted to participate, including Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Baldwin, Nathan Lane, Andy Cohen, Wendell Pierce, J. Smith-Cameron, Kenneth Lonergan, Victor Garber and Ramy Youssef. This reading will be directed by John Benjamin Hickey.

“The power of values, the importance of preserving history, recognizing those on whose shoulders we stand and using the past as a compass for the present and future. We are privileged almost 50 years later to celebrate Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward and have them participate in Monday night’s stage reading” said Debby Hirshman, executive director of Center at West Park, the nonprofit arts and community hub that’s hosting the event. “Just as this performance preserves the past, the Center at West Park, the star studded cast and team of ‘All the President’s’ Men’ are committed to saving the NYC landmark , the West Park Presbyterian Church. We are committed to preserving the legacy of Joseph Papp who began his theatre there, the pastors who brought civil rights to this church from the South– the first home of God’s Love We Deliver and more for which it became a NYC landmark in 2010.”

The performance is dedicated to the memory of director Mark Brokaw for his contributions to theatre and his efforts to grow The Center at West Park and save the landmark West Park Presbyterian Church.
