‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ ‘Thunderbolts*’ and ‘The Last of Us’ Lead Critics Choice Super Awards
“Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Thunderbolts*” lead the film nominations for the fifth annual Critics Choice Super Awards, which honors superhero, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and action genres in television and movies.
Both films earned six nominations each, including best superhero movie. “Deadpool & Wolverine” stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds each earned nominations for best actor in a superhero movie. Jennifer Garner and Emma Corrin were also recognized for best actress in a superhero movie, with the latter also picking up a nomination for best villain in a movie.

David Harbour and Lewis Pullman from Marvel’s “Thunderbolts*” earned nominations for best actor in a superhero movie alongside their co-stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Florence Pugh landing nominations for best actress in a superhero movie. Pullman is also up for best villain in a movie.

Leading this year’s TV nominees in six categories is “The Last of Us,” with nominations in best superhero series, limited series or made-for-TV movie and best horror series, limited series or made-for-TV movie. Other Hollywood stars recognized for acting include Pedro Pascal for best actor in a superhero series, limited series or made-for-TV movie as well as best actor in a horror series, limited series or made-for-TV movie. His co-star Bella Ramsey earned nominations for best actress in the same categories.
The winners will be announced on Thursday, August 7.
