Elizabeth Gillies Joins Indie Political Comedy Series ‘The Right Side’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Elizabeth Gillies has joined the cast of Max Talisman’s independent half-hour political dramedy series “The Right Side,” which also stars Andie MacDowell and Peter Gallagher.
In “The Right Side,” Gillies will play Jordan Silver, who is “the tastemaker of the Silver Family,” according to an official description. Jordan made a career critiquing her parents’ politics on social media and wields powerful influence in online liberal circles. Talisman will play her twin, Elliot, while MacDowell stars as their mother, Ruthie, a conservative media celebrity. Gallagher plays Ruthie’s husband and longtime TV partner. Dyllón Burnside also stars in a recurring role.
According to an official logline, “The Right Side” begins with “a live, on-air announcement that turns a terminal illness into a national spectacle. America’s most beloved conservative TV couple’s carefully curated public persona collides with their very real family when their liberal, podcast-famous kids return home for a network tribute special. Notably, the same kids host a show dedicated to tearing down everything their parents stand for.”
Gillies is probably best known for playing the brooding, aspiring popstar Jade West on the Nickelodeon comedy series “Victorious” from 2010 to 2013. She also starred as Fallon Carrington on Netflix’s “Dynasty,” which wrapped it five season run in 2022. Her other recent TV credits include “The Hunting Party” and “The Orville.”
Talisman serves as creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner. Other executive producers include Buzz Koenig and Darren Goldberg for Atlantic Pictures, Jess Sonnenfeld Jolles for Luber Roklin and Katharina Eggmann, who also serves as the casting director. Atlantic Pictures will serve as the production services company.
