The upcoming Fox event series “The Faithful” has found its first cast member, with Natacha Karam now attached to star. Karam will play Hagar in the three-part series. The official description for first installment states: “Sarah feels incomplete without the child that has been promised to her and her husband, Abraham, by God. After braving isolation, famine, the ire of Pharaoh, and several more years of barrenness, she resorts to her own plan to bring a child into the world involving her maidservant Hagar (Karam) and Abraham. However, jealousy soon sets in after Hagar gives birth to Ishmael (from whose lineage the Islamic religion traces its roots). Then a miracle happens… And personal freedoms are at odds with long-held grievances and shattered love.”
The role brings Karam back to Fox, as she previously starred in the network’s first responder drama “9-1-1: Lone Star” during its five-season run. She is also known for her roles in shows like “The Brave” and “Homeland” as well as for films like “The Old Guard” and “The Hurricane Heist.”
She is repped by Luber Roklin, Gersh, and Conway van Gelder Grant. “The Faithful” is set to premiere on March 22, 2026 on Fox, with the final two-hour installment set to air on Easter Sunday. Production is set to begin on the series this summer in Rome and Matera, Italy. It will air throughout the Easter and Passover season on Fox and the next day on Hulu. As previously announced, the show will be told through the lens of five of The Old Testament’s most important women: Sarah and her servant Hagar, Sarah’s great-niece Rebekah, and Rebekah’s nieces, sisters Leah and Rachel.Rene Echevarria wrote the pilot and will serve as showrunner and executive producer on “The Faithful.” Carol Mendelsohn will executive produce under her first-look broadcast direct deal with Fox, with Julie Weitz also executive producing. The series is wholly owned by Fox Entertainment and produced by Fox Entertainment Studios. Fox Entertainment Global will distribute worldwide.
