‘Gen V’ Not Returning for Season 3 at Amazon
“Gen V,” one of “The Boys” spinoffs series at Amazon Prime Video, is not returning for a third season, Variety has learned.
“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again,” series executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg said in a statement.

“Gen V” originally premiered in 2023, with the second season airing between September and October 2025. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, characters from “Gen V” will appear in upcoming episodes of the fifth and final season of “The Boys.”

When “Gen V” Season 2 premiered with its first three episodes in September, it raked in 424 million minutes viewed, enough to reach number 8 on the Nielsen streaming top 10 originals chart. That was the show’s largest weekly total ever, with two thirds of that total coming from adults 18-49. However, the show failed to make the top 10 again save for one more week during Season 2.
“Gen V” took place at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, where young supes train for the chance to one day join The Seven. The cast of the series included Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Hamish Linklater.
“Gen V” was developed by Craig Rosenberg, Goldberg, and Kripke. All three served as executive producers along with showrunner Michele Fazekas, Seth Rogen, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Ori Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum, and Brant Engelstein. Loreli Alanís, Gabriel Garcia, and Jessica Chou served as co-executive producers. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.

With “The Boys” set to end with its current season and “Gen V” not returning, the only show in “The Boys” universe currently on the horizon is the prequel “Vought Rising,” which will follow the exploits of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) in the 1950s. That show is slated to premiere in 2027. There will be an early tease of “Vought Rising” in “The Boys” Season 5.
Additionally, the spinoff “The Boys: Mexico” remains in development.
