Greg Berlanti, Bash Doran’s ‘Foster Dade’ Hulu Pilot Casts Cameron Mann (EXCLUSIVE)
The “Foster Dade” pilot at Hulu has added Cameron Mann to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.
Mann will appear in the pilot, which is based on the Nash Jenkins novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos,” alongside previously announced cast members Matt Bomer and Chloe East. The project was picked up to pilot at Hulu back in August.
The official logline states the show is a “sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school that explores privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity amid the rise of social media, millennial anxiety and pharmaceuticals.”

Mann will star as Jack Albright, described as “Kennedy’s golden boy — magnetic, athletic, born to lead. He moves through the world with effortless charm and unshakable confidence, his lacrosse stick a permanent appendage. On Foster’s first day, Jack greets him with an easy grin and a welcoming hand — but beneath his charisma lies a volatility, a combustible mix of privilege and insecurity.”
Mann recently appeared in the Ari Aster feature “Eddington” in his feature debut. He is primarily known for his television roles, which include hit shows like “Mare of Easttown” at HBO, “Daredevil” at Netflix, and “Law & Order: SVU” at NBC. He is also an accomplished stage actor, including starring in the the Broadway developmental lab production of “The Secret Garden” and playing Nate in “Peace, Love and Cupcakes” at the New York Music Festival.
He is repped by Innovative Artists, Stride Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
“Foster Date” is being written and executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran. Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman of Berlanti Productions also executive produce along with Donald De Line of De Line Pictures, Robbie Rogers, and Jenkins. Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti is under an overall deal, is the studio.
