K-Pop Girl Group Queenz Eye Talks Identity, Growth and What Keeps Them Going
K-pop girl group Queenz Eye recently revamped with a six-member lineup including two original members, Won Chae and Ah Yoon, and four new faces: Kiirii, Seo Vin, Jin Yul and Seo Ha.  In recent years, the K-pop scene has undergone a significant transformation. The music industry’s focus has shifted from promoting uniformity among group members to celebrating the individuality of each member and readily displaying their contrasts. This evolution reflects broader cultural trends where fans seek diverse representation and personalized connections with idols, especially through shared traits ranging from astrology signs and MBTI types to personality quirks and unconventional food preferences.

The keyword here is “relatable.” Fans not only accept but love the imperfections, vulnerabilities and unique traits that make their favorite member (a.k.a. their “bias”) more human. Fans are more likely to seek an entry point through the member who resonates most deeply with them. The six members of Queenz Eye each offer a unique persona that contributes to a multifaceted group identity. The group took extra steps to ensure that each individual member got their moment to shine. From individual visual films to individual cover songs, the member reveal process was all about getting fans familiar with each and every member before giving them the larger picture of the whole group.

Won Chae The leader of the group and also the oldest member, Won Chae carries herself with cool assurance and authenticity. She says she embraces the personal motto of “never set my own limits,” using each challenge that comes her way as a chance to break her own records and push boundaries. Her determination is strengthened by the memory of a formative moment as a trainee, when her vocal teacher told her, “If you cannot believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you.” That trust became a lasting source of strength.

Won Chae gravitates toward an image that is clean, pure and strong, preferring to show her real self without embellishment. She enjoys being lively and making people laugh, but behind-the-scenes she’s more introspective and tender. “I cry easily, I sometimes overthink,” she shares. “I’m actually quite self-conscious and sensitive inside.” This mix of resolve, openness to vulnerability and emotional depth shapes her both as a performer and person.
Ah Yoon The rapper and second founding member of the group, Ah Yoon embodies the kind of artistic duality that makes K-pop’s next generation so compelling. In her member reveal visual film, she deliberately chose to shift from her previous chic and charismatic image to showcase what she calls her “bright and pure” side — a calculated evolution that reveals someone unafraid to show multiple facets of her personality. And Ah Yoon is well-aware of the strength of her contrasts: “I know I look cold when I’m not smiling, but when I do smile, it brings out a different kind of charm.”
What grounds her artistic flexibility is a surprisingly mature worldview shaped by her mother’s wisdom. Ah Yoon lives by the philosophy of “if you can’t avoid it, enjoy it.” She knows that this adage may seem like a cliche to some but still finds value in it. “People can’t always do only what they want to do, so when that situation comes, I’m determined to enjoy it,” she shares.
Kiirii Kiirii says she’s genuinely excited about growing and developing as an artist with her new team and is eager for transformation and breaking expectations. “My biggest wish is for people to think, ‘Wow, she has more charisma now!’ compared to my earlier idol days in Thailand,” she shares. While such changes may come with struggles, she’s dedicated to the idea of focusing on progress, not perfection. Even when she doesn’t feel perfect, she regularly gives herself internal pep talks by repeating: “Today’s me is better than yesterday’s me.”
Kiirii looks forward to surprising fans with her dual personas on and off stage. She knows exactly who she is in different situations and enjoys the surprise factor that comes with revealing her playful sides. “At first, you might think I’m quite calm and of few words, but once I get comfortable with people, I become extremely chatty and I love to play pranks,” she says. Her desire to embrace duality extends to the group as well. “I hope people think, ‘Aw, Queenz Eye is cute’ and then watch our stages, and go, ‘Woah, Queenz Eye is really powerful!’”

Seo Vin Another new addition to the group, Seo Vin embodies warmth in both visuals and spirit. Her dance teacher once told her she has warm, soft energy and she holds onto that feedback like a treasured compliment, recounting it with obvious pride. “I want to share that energy not just on stage but in everyday life and build my entire artistic identity around this idea of warmth as strength,” she explains.
Part of Seo Vin’s preparations for the debut has included researching how to show serious and charismatic expressions that contrast with her naturally cheerful attitude, in hopes fans will appreciate her diverse facial expressions. There’s a thoughtfulness to how she’s constructed her performer persona, layering warmth with intensity and always thinking about what energy she’s putting into the world. Her family motto is “remember your beginnings,” an ideology that helps her maintain the passion and courage of the first time of every experience. “I want to approach every moment without regret,” she says, “and keep that initial excitement alive.”
Jin Yul In more ways than one, new member Jin Yul is full of surprises. On the outside, Jin Yul radiates a chic and reserved energy. “I think I appear shy when I’m not on stage,” she admits. But contrary to her subdued demeanor, she “can’t wait to show her fierce and fiery spirit when performing. My explosive energy on stage may come as a shock to those who have only seen my reserved sides.”
Jin Yul has always followed the words taught by her parents to embrace every side of herself: “I’m still me, whether I succeed or fail.” This outlook allows her to understand that while her journey as an artist may be full of ups and downs and evolutions, she will always remain the same person. And she’s ready for the evolutions. “I wanted to show how I’ve grown compared to before with this debut. I want to be more confident in showing my charms from now on,” she adds.
Seo Ha As the youngest member, newcomer Seo Ha brings a bright energy to the team that may not be obvious at first glance. “I rarely speak up when I’m with strangers,” she says. “People might think I’m extremely quiet and timid, but I’m actually really lively.” This contrast between an introverted first impression and an unexpectedly energetic nature adds depth to her character, making her approachable yet intriguing.

Preparing for the debut put Seo Ha through some difficult moments, but instead of giving up in the face of adversity, she says she learned how to thrive. “I used to get frustrated whenever things didn’t work out or become angry or sad at myself,” she recalls. “But then someone told me, ‘Constant positive thinking multiplies one’s abilities.’ The words help me stay positive, no matter what.” Her ability to maintain a positive outlook while embracing both her calm and vibrant sides reveals a thoughtful and authentic individual who grows through challenges and connections.
For these six talented individuals, preparing for their debut was an extended process of discovery for their self-identity. As they trained, filmed and reintroduced themselves to the public, the members pushed the boundaries of their comfort zones. Jin Yul recalls trying colors and silhouettes she’d never worn before, and thinking, “Oh, I can pull these off! This color actually looks okay on me?” And Seo Ha was pleasantly surprised to discover a new side of her personality: “I knew I enjoyed other people’s company once I opened up, but I didn’t know how much I loved talking until I met the members.”
That spirit of self-discovery soon expanded beyond personal growth into how they connected with one another. Being a K-pop idol comes with enduring long and exhausting practices, filming sessions and performances, but members also found new sources of strength within each other. Ah Yoon says she admires Seo Vin’s positive mindset and describes how “Seo Vin always makes the rest of us laugh and shares kind words with everyone.” And Seo Ha finds inspiration in Won Chae’s effort to “keep everyone’s spirits high during physically and mentally tolling schedules.”
To the public, they are Queenz Eye. To each other, they are six friends building a bond meant to last a lifetime. Won Chae remembers a day spent together on Jan. 1, riding bikes, exploring markets and sharing food. That day, they wrote down their personal dreams and group goals, then placed the notes alongside photos as daily reminders. “It’s a very warm memory,” she says, reflecting on the moment. Kiirii recalls an impromptu concert in the practice room late into the night. When Won Chae and Ah Yoon started playing music, the whole team danced, laughed and let loose. Those playful moments helped the members grow closer. “We love to goof around with each other and make the mood feel humorous. As those moments built up, we became closer to each other,” Kiirii says. “It’s the kind of casual intimacy that turns a group into a family.”

That same warmth now extends beyond the group as Queenz Eye invites fans into their circle. Building a lasting fandom starts with authentic connection, and their approach is rooted in who they are both as individuals and as a group. Ah Yoon expresses a desire for fans to feel like friends. “I want our fans to be able to talk to us, whether they’re happy or going through a rough time. I want us to celebrate and support each other,” she says. Mirroring the way members are each other’s support systems, Seo Vin emphasizes the source of strength that she wants the group to be for fans: “I hope we can give each other strength. The love and support of fans is my biggest motivator.”
In this new chapter, Queenz Eye has set their sights on a range of goals, from lofty ambitions like Won Chae’s dream of “putting our name on the charts” and holding a “standalone concert” to Seo Vin’s wish of “placing first on a music show.” Just as important to them is the hope of simply staying united by their genuine love for music and performance. In Seo Vin’s words, “I truly believe in the saying, ‘Sincerity wins over everything.’ If we stay true to our hearts, we’ll keep moving closer to the milestones that may feel out of reach right now.”
Queenz Eye’s debut album “PRISM EP.01” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
