Paramount Skydance Hires Meta Exec Dane Glasgow as Chief Product Officer
Paramount Skydance recruited Dane Glasgow, a veteran tech exec most recently at Meta’s Facebook, as chief product officer and the latest member of its revamped C-suite.
Glasgow reports directly to David Ellison, chairman and CEO of Paramount Skydance, the company formed by Skydance Media’s acquisition of Paramount Global (which closed last month). Glasgow starts in the new role Sept. 29.

The company’s hiring of Glasgow “underscores” Ellison’s “strong commitment to aligning with leading technology innovators to build a next-generation company at the forefront of where entertainment is headed,” Paramount Skydance said in announcing the news. Glasgow will work closely with Cindy Holland, the ex-Netflix exec who heads Paramount Skydance’s Direct-to-Consumer group “to ensure alignment and collaboration across platforms, products and audience-engagement strategies,” the company said.

“As we strive to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation, bringing on a leader of Dane’s caliber marks a pivotal step forward,” Ellison said in a statement. “With a proven track record of scaling businesses and driving transformation through cutting-edge technology — from Meta, Google, eBay and Microsoft to the successful companies he co-founded, Neoglyphic Entertainment and Positronic — Dane’s expertise is exactly what we need to strengthen every aspect of our business.”

Most recently, Glasgow has served as VP of product management for Meta’s Facebook, where he leads the product teams delivering Feed, Stories, Reels, Groups, Marketplace, Gaming, Ads and more to over 3 billion monthly active users around the world. He previously led Facebook’s group.

Prior to joining Meta in 2021, Glasgow held senior leadership positions in product, design, engineering and general management at Google, eBay and Microsoft. He also is an entrepreneur, having launched businesses in entertainment, finance and communications. Glasgow attended Cornell University, where he majored in computer science before leaving at the beginning of his senior year to focus on launching a startup.
Glasgow said in a statement: “Entertainment and storytelling inspired my passion for technology from a very young age. I am thrilled to become a part of Paramount, such an iconic company, which has been behind so many of the greatest stories told over the last century-plus. It’s truly inspiring to join David, along with Cindy and the other members of the executive leadership team, who not only value technology but empower innovation at every level.”
Continued Glasgow, “Together, we have an extraordinary opportunity to help shape the future of entertainment — creating unforgettable experiences for audiences across all of Paramount’s platforms and brands, enabling creatives to tell their best stories on what is an incredible canvas, and opening doors for talented individuals who share our vision to redefine the business through frontier technology. I cannot wait to get started!”
According to Paramount Skydance, Glasgow lives in California with his family “and is still an active maker at heart — building robots, writing software and creating films.” In a post on LinkedIn about his move, Glasgow wrote that he learned to code as a kid “because I wanted to make animations, build video games, and create visual effects.”
On Aug. 7, Skydance closed its takeover of Paramount Global following FCC approval of the deal. Ellison has said the company expects to cut more than $2 billion in costs from the company. That will include mass layoffs, with as many as 3,000 jobs expected to be eliminated by early November, Variety has reported.
