Wasserman Agency Rebrands as ‘The Team’
The Wasserman Agency, which is in the process of being sold in the wake of founder Casey Wasserman’s presence in the Epstein files, has announced its new name: The Team.
Yep, just The Team, which echoes the agency’s “TeamWass” email convention although it may pose some initial “Who’s on first?” communication challenges (“It’s x with the Team!” “What team?” “The Team!”)

A statement on the company’s website reads: “As of today, Wasserman is rebranding as THE·TEAM and you can now find us at the.team.

“For 24 years, this company has been shaped by our work, our people and our unifying belief in the power of Sports, Music and Entertainment.
“That philosophy remains the foundation of who we are – and where we are going. We go forward as we always have: Together.”
The name change is the first concrete move away from the company’s namesake, who last month agreed to sell the agency, which is among the largest sports and music agencies in the business. While the music division was roiled by turmoil as several artists, most notably Chappell Roan and Laufey, left in the wake of the Epstein revelations, sources say things inside the division have calmed down, as executives (nearly all of whom are bound by contracts) and many of the artists (who are not) take a wait-and-see approach while the company’s name change and sale move forward.
While a name change happened quickly, even under optimal circumstances, the sale will take months. While CAA and UTA were both said to be looking at acquiring Wasserman Music wholesale — and some sources said they were just looking at acquiring pieces — neither prospect appear likely at the moment; sources say a sale to a private equity firm or individual is a more realistic scenario.
