Top Hollywood law practice Yorn Levine LLP has appointed two of its in-house stars, Cary Dobkin and Priya Verma, to name partner. Co-founded in the mid-‘90s by Kevin Yorn, the firm’s promotion of Dobkin and Verna comes as both hustle for top clients including Rachel Sennott, Nisha Ganatra, Shane Gillis and Leanne Morgan. Verna becomes one of the youngest ever entertainment lawyers to become name partner at Yorn Levine, where she handles a globally focused practice representing top-tier writers, directors, showrunners and authors across film, series and publishing. Her additional clients include writers Nora Garrett (“After the Hunt”) and Connor McIntyre (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s “Animals”); David E. Kelley Productions president Matthew Tinker and “Dehli Crime” showrunner Tanuj Chopra. Verna is known for sophisticated long-term deals, and has increased Yorn Levin’s presence in New York and the U.K.
“From the very beginning when Priya joined the firm, it was abundantly clear that she was special — a super star entertainment attorney in the making,” said the firm’s co-founder Jared Levine. “We couldn’t be happier to have her name on the door.”
Dobkin began his career at a traditional law firm before pivoting to entertainment, where he quickly advanced from assistant to associate to partner to name partner at Yorn Levine. He’s credited as a key driver of growth across film and TV, comedy, digital media and international markets – particularly in the U.K. His clients include Gillis, Morgan, Andrew Schulz, Emmy winner Hannah Einbinder and Academy Award nominee Maria Bakalova. He also advises major figures in the branding, product and endorsement space, including Hailey Bieber. Los Angeles locals should also note he advises nightlife and restaurant collective The H.wood Group as well as the Chateau Marmont in media and production initiatives.
“Cary sees entertainment differently. He’s built his practice deliberately and earned his way to where he is now. The roster he’s assembled speaks for itself, from major comedians to breakout dramatic talent to athletes and brands,” said Yorn. “The thing I love the most about him is that he’s a team player, he helps everyone, he’s a leader, and if he says he’s going to do something he does it with grace and integrity.” Yorn Levine is headquartered in Los Angeles and New York. The firm’s roster includes Jordan Peele, Alix Earle, Jason Sudeikis, Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson and many more. In addition to its entertainment clientele, Yorn Levine supports venture and growth companies across consumer and tech sectors.
